Left Pulmonary View Details

The left pulmonary view provides a specialized perspective of the heart, focusing on the left pulmonary artery and surrounding structures. This view is clinically important for diagnosing pulmonary artery abnormalities and assessing left heart structures.

Left Pulmonary Artery

Carries deoxygenated blood from the pulmonary trunk to the left lung. Divides into superior and inferior branches to supply the upper and lower lobes.

Left Atrium

Receives oxygenated blood from the lungs via the pulmonary veins. Forms the posterior surface of the heart in this view.

Pulmonary Veins

Carry oxygenated blood from the lungs to the left atrium. Typically two veins from each lung (superior and inferior).
